The Retreat is minutes from the city by-pass and 20 minutes from Edinburgh City Centre. An eight bed roomed family owned and run renovated in the summer 2011. The rooms are all individually designed with period features and all rooms have a flat screen TV, tea/coffee making facilities and free wi-fi.

An opulent but very casual affair, we cater from business, to family or tourist alike serving food and drink from 7am til late, 7 days a week. Set yourself up with one of our hearty cooked to order breakfasts using all local produce with complimentary papers. Our bar has to be one of the quirkiest in Edinburgh and we show all major sporting evernts on Sky Sports HD with a large range of local produced beer and a large choice of wines available.

Our dining room is the ideal area for a celebration and we cater from 2-70 in one of our specially appointed rooms. Our conservatory looks out onto the enclosed play area and beer gardens which are an ideal place to unwind during the Scottish Summers.
We are the perfect base to take in Rossyln Chapel, with a wide range of golf courses close by with the option of borrowing some clubs from us. Walkers and wildlife-lovers can explore the surrounding coast and take in East, West and Midlothian – perfect for beach walks in Gullane or Yellowcraigs and walks along the Pentland Hills and country parks to explore like Vogrie and Dalkeith.There is the 31 bus service that runs directly outside which is only 30 minutes to the City for £1.30

To the back of the hotel we have our own Chapel which can be used for wedding ceremonies (both civil and religious) or corporate meetings.
